Ford Five Hundred

Hey everyone! I'm in the market for a new vehicle, and have my eyes set on a Ford Five Hundred.

Just curious if anyone here has ever owned one, or currently owns one?

I have zero input on the 500 aside from check Consumer Reports for used car reliability ratings. Online subscription is inexpensive compared to extended maintenance costs on a clunker.

Forgot about CR, thanks! Did a carfax on the car though - came up clean, which I'm happy about!

I'm excited 2007, less than 90k miles.

Unfortunately, the truck has gotta go. Between gas and repairs, just makes more sense.

My brother has one. 5-6 years old now and no trouble at all. He has the AWD model. He likes it a lot.

I am definitely looking for the AWD model.. Cause well it is New England, that and snow cover hills aren't fun either!

Arrow or front wheel drive

with the engine sitting on top of your "drive wheels"
you get more traction in snow
who cares if the rear end swings around behind you
it'll eventually straighten out
fish tailin is FUN
as long as you ain't bangin cars (don't look back) lol

Haha this is true. But as up right now, everything is up the air. My decision will be made as, if the dealer comes back with everything to as i need and want it, then the car is meant to be. If not.. I wait a few months and try again. Easy as that.

Buyer Beware about carfax....recently a person was buying a car and relying on carfax....buyer got in touch with the previous owner....that owner stated the car had heavy collision damage...when buying a used car always ask to talk to or phone previous owner...always take a possible car purchase to a mechanic even if it will cost U a few bucks.

http://www.autopi.com/carfaxCBS.html

Read more if U like.

Go to Google type in: "bad news about car fax."

Interesting! Hadn't thought about that. The dealer didn't come back with a good enough offer, so as of right now, I'm just going to hang on to my truck for a bit longer. Till spring at least.

think about this....
go there on the last day of DECEMBER
the very Last day see is their
last chance to fulfill a quota of sales for 2013
and he will be MORE than willing to "DEAL"
and if not.... then say happy new year
and start walking away slowly

Raven, I like that idea too. I also know Mondays are another good day to go.

Right now, I'm just hanging on to my truck to get through the winter, by then I'll have close to 270k miles on it. Probably going to end up running it right into the ground. In 3 years I've put just under 100k miles on it.
