On the Water last issue

Who saw the nice wood yaks in the last OTW? And what do you think of them?

Beautiful looking. I wish I didn't have this plug building disease or I would take a shot at that thing. Looks like it would be fun to build. P.

I saw it, and made me drool
I am gonna take a whirl at it, make take me long timre, but it looked sweet. I am sure the feeling of catching on a plug you made on a rod you made out of a yak you made would be pretty sweet! I got 2 outta 3 so far....

That and seeing what Slip had made was pushing me, then came OTW and it became a Must-do

Used hard and put away dirty....

Thanks for the compliments on the strip kayak in OTW. I have 2 more articles coming out in the next couple of issues. These strip kayaks aren't that difficult to build, it takes a lot of time and patience though. I'm working towards building my third one, but house work is dragging me down.

Chesapeake Light craft just came out with a sit on top that may take the Mirage drive. www.clcboats.com. The last strip kayak I built, I put a 24lb. thrust Minn Kota motor through the hull. I steer it with pedals. The 13 1/2' kayak weighs 53lbs. without the battery.
