Yellow screen

Can anyone tell me why the screen on my laptop turns yellow? When I tap it or move it back and forth it goes back to a normal screen. It's been doing it for awhile but it's getting worse.

First check: attach an external monitor. IF it shows the same problem, the video chip or card has failed.

if it doesn't yeah it may need reseating (re-attaching)

take the laptop apart in the area with ribbon connector is attached to the screen and the laptop. look for hairline cracks in the ribbon connector or where the connector sits on the board of both screen and laptop unit
