Clear coat for hard plastics

Does anyone know of a clear coating that I could apply to hard plastics in order to preserve the paint? I have some lures I really like, but the paint coating chips off way too easily (probably why it was discontinued). I was hoping i might find a clear coating I could apply to protect them and give them a little longer life. I've found some possibilities, but I want to make sure that what I use doesn't have an odor that would put the fish off.

Thx
