I was taking a look at the telecam image of the Canal and noticed the traps in the picture. Why are there lobster pots there? Who has access to tend these traps? It doesn't seem right to me. Cape Cod Canal, Telecam, US Army Corps of Engineers
What happens if the person tending these traps gets hurt? Remember you can't fish there either. This is right in front of the Canal Control building, not private property but Federal property.

They actually pulled the out and leave them there to be picked up by the owner. I know two brothers who have been fishing the canal for thirty years. The place traps at lowest tide possible, out as far as they can, and ave never had runin with rangers over them. They suck having the in front of you though while fishing. I think I was told it was not legal to trap in the canal.
