season over??? I think not!

I spent this weekend up on Winnipesaukee, Moultonborough Bay to be specific, and they still have over a foot of ice. I was able to walk out from shore without a plank as well.

I set one trap with a minnow, and jigged from my pullover portable.
jigged up a mess of sunfish, white and yellow perch and one 2-3 lb. largemouth.
I did get two pickerel on the trap, one topping out around 26"long (a definite derby fish).

All fish were released to feed, fight and get large for another day!

Now if I can find that monster pick next year DURING the derby?????

I am a legend in my own mind!

I'm selling all my ice fishing gear!!! We never get any ice around here any more and I don't feel like driving two hours to drill some holes in the ice.

If that were the case I would probaly look at possible kayak fishing.
Sure, the fish would still be feeding, you'd just have to fish a bit slower to entice them to strike.

Oh, and you'd have to be dressed for the unlikely possibility that you could fall in the water.

There are always options, but it depends of how badly you are jonesin to wet a line.'
