Woodstock now and then ...

Good flick on the history channel if they re-run it like they usaully do . Lots of good stuff .. Lots of bands stuck in traffic ,,, Richie Haven forced to go on first .. Tried six times to leave the stage but no acts to follow .. add libbed the song "Freedom" on stage . stalling to kill time ..

Abbie Hoffman interrupts the Who's set by getting on the mike ,only to be bopped off the head with Pete Townsends guitar..

Woodstock is Crosby, Stills and Nash 2nd gig ...

Joni Mitchell who wrote the song "Woodstock" in a motel room, had to appear on the #^&#^&#^&#^& Cavett show that Monday . Her agent feared not being able to get to the show on time and she was pulled out of Woodstock never appearing ..

Jimi Hendrix who went on last ,performed for the 40,000 who were left ..

Carlos Santana who was forced to go on stage a day early was told ..You have to go on now or never ,, while he was peaking on mescaline ,,, hence Soul Sacrifice ...

Woodstock followed 1968 events when Bobby Kennedy was assasinated along with Martin Luther King .. The Vietnam war raging,,student protest.. and now in 1969 Nixon is President . Been seeing alot of scary Nixon stuff on the History channel lately .. all and all Woodstock was music at its finest .. raw talent ,, nice piece History Channel ..

Country Joe McDonald had his guitar misplace so they gave him an accoustic yamaha. When he said ,there's no strap ! They tied a piece of rope on it . War protest song that still hits a nerve to this day..
