I'm pretty sure calling the monarchy a joke is about as American as you can get. You do remember 1776 don't you? This crap is everything we stood up against. Prince whatever his name is was handed his title, he didnt earn it, nor did any of his forefathers. It was BESTOWED upon them, he was born into it. I have no patience for that crap and no place for kings and queens, I respect hard work and earned success. Thats it. As much as I dislike Barry, he earned his title of POTUS, campaigned and was elected. We had a choice.

So, long answer, no I dont care about it.

Jimmy, not sure you heard but they are our allies now.The Royals have no powers to speak of but still have the respect of the citizens of England. That's good enough for me as we fight side by side nowadays with their brave soldiers.Although you(and many others)can't seem to grasp the regard in which the Royals are held(which is fine, albeit ignorant and disrespectful)I still maintain it is this type of attitude that garners the contempt of the more progressive cultures in the world. With attitudes like this passed down for generations to come, you can rest assured the values you hold dear will also be forgotten and cast aside much to the dismay of our forefathers.

Basswipe, don't you think you should understand a cultures tradition before you pass judgement on it?If you are informed and still find it in you to direspect a tradition you find offensive, then at least you know why they do it. Knowledge is power amigo.

You lie like a cheap rug

RIJ called me and asked me to come over and watch it live at his royal wedding party..

As I told him, some of us save days off from work for fishing....

Thanks for the lesson. Genital mutilation, arranged marriages and child slavery are some other traditions shared by our allies too. I find those archaic and medival practices as well. I guess I'm uncultured. Anyone know if Churchills kids are married? Nah, why would we care about the off spring of one of englands greatest leaders? We have the queen!

OK.
I'd bring the coffee, but spence claims they need to be 100% fair trade, roasted by a shaman and ground on site using a silver french press... so that's on him

Why can't we have a king and a queen?
I vote for Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan!
