Steve Kahn

Man I forgot about this fantastic player. I was looking at some Tom Scott and this guys name came up and I was like I loved this guy years ago. What a player and the guys he hung with were all top notch. Steve Gadd, Brecker Bros., David Sanborn, Steely Dan, etc..... Check out the line up on this tune

Way back when I heard (or think I heard) Steve Khan plays Ellington and have never been able to find it. Obviously it must have been something special to get stuck in my head like this. Didn't show up on Wiki, but the discography is limited to only album titles. Thought is was a full album, but must be a track or two on one of the many albums listed.

Check out his web site, pretty cool stuff. You can email him! I did to ask about the Ellington.
