I remember that day. My brother was very upset. I was 7 and had no conception of what death was.
27. Just a kid.

I don't want him resting in Peace really....

i hope he's shaking things UP in the Afterlife
or the "other " dimension... making it cooler - LOL

I remember escaping out the open window covered by huge curtains
at this out of control party
his music was playing loudly
the cops had arrived questioning the many drunk house guests
and some of us were slick enough to escape detection
beat feet.... and slip away unscathed... heh heh heh

He was a phenom at 27. The thought of him getting any better, as he undoubtedly would with age and experience, is just mind boggling to me. A brilliant mind and talent, but an unsettled soul. Like Jim Morrison. Janis Joplin, etc...All brilliant.

Hi Matt

Jimmi incorporated feed back and distortion into his style ,, common place now ,, but at the time it was new frontier ,, Changed rock guitar for the next 40 yrs.

You had to see him to believe. First time was 1968, Charlotte Coliseum, then Atlanta Pop Festival, July 4th. 1969. He played the Star Spangled Banner as the clock hit midnight, with a huge fireworks show going off behind the stage. I feel fortunate that I was there and still remember (most) of it.
