Slowly wading in

Just joined in September before a long awaited trip (after 24 yrs)to the Cape at the end of Sept. My Thanks to Backbeach Jake for the only response on places to fish for a non 4x4. Skunked at the RP swim beach (actually caugh a doggie and my wife thought it was great) Fished the Pamet, zip on bait, but caught shad at the river on the outgoing to low at dusk. Some flyguy from NJ clued us in. My wife caught a short striper on a jig, and as the add says "PRICELESS" I think she is hooked and ready to go back next year, but she said no more bait fishing!
I live in Maine now but have fished/lived LI, NJ and CC in the past an am just getting back into the surf game. Caught plenty of small bass from my boat in the Androscoggin and Kennebec, but the surf is something special. This is a great site. It's like walking into your local tackle shop and shootin' the s*** with the regular suspects. As a former rod builder and plug carver I'm just wading back in slowly.
