Bud Shootout

Its racing time again!

The new "selection" format is quite lame.

Call me old-fashioned but I like the original Busch Clash format. All of the previous season's pole sitters, any previous Clash winner and then the one lone guy from the Busch series who'd one the most poles in that series' previous season. And then qualify for position.

Should be interesting to watch with so many inexperienced drivers.

entertaining race. love the result. the commentators really blew the whole harvick losing the draft twice out of proportion. both were the results of other guys's wrecks and it was clear that he had a car that could do it when he needed it to.

mcmurray was very impressive out front with no help. it'll be interesting to see if he has a good year this year. he needs it bad. if he struggles again, he'll be out of that ride and will have a hard time ever earning a prime seat again.

i hope that all the problems that nascar is going to face this year (with the economy and problems in the auto industry) force them to step back and look at the direction they are moving in. They need to step back more towards their roots and get back to the old school short tracks like Darlington, Rockingham, etc. Once they start getting into those stretches of 2 and 2.5 mile tracks like Texas, Cali, Atlanta I (and I think many others) lose interest quick.

I don't like Tx, Fontana, Mich, Homestead, and even NHIS, they are either to narrow or flat.

I still like Richmond, Charlotte, Atlanta, they all seem good.
Bullring's are kinda okay, too many cautions.

We should look at last nights race as pretty much what we are going to see all season 28 cars in contention.

I don't think there are too many more fully sponsored cars for the season.

the cars seemed all over the court this weekend. very loose. i liked the race though. looks like harvick has got that move down well.

maybe this year will be different. johnson is gaining weight and going with the dirty look, mcmurray holding his own, and the scott speed interview was funny after he wrecked.
