Levon Helm on PBS

Anybody see the Levon Helm concert from Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on GBH 2 at 10 PM last night - it was great!

The band was outstanding, awesome horn section - they played a good mix of tunes from the Band and his Dirt Farmer album - gotta bug my music buddy for Levon's new Electric Dirt CD

If you're a fan, check your listings, it may be on again this week

Paul, check it out if you didn't get a chance to catch it last night...

I heard him recently, his voice is pretty much gone form years of smoking isn't it? The band was a great group though.

Actually, he's getting over throat cancer, but I heard him playing Newport last year and he sounded pretty much the same considering - he always had that raspy sound anyway

Listening to the Band Anthology and Dirt Farmer back to back I don't notice a lot of difference

He was never what you'd call a 'crooner' to begin with...
