Thumbs up just another newbie

Name is Bobby. Fished for "whatever" as a kid, focused on fresh water for some time after that cause I never had much luck in salt. Got into spearfishing a bunch of years back, now I am all about striper fishin from the shoreline. Started w/ light tackle and schoolies, evolved into keepers or nothing, most of the time anyway. I love getting the line wet even to no avail. Work on the ever so productive Fishers Island which got me into cow collecting. True believer in fresh bait, but save that as last resort. Havent had hardly any luck w/ anything besides the trusty atom popper and would like to diversify. Enjoy fishing stories and old school/new school knowledge so any info is good info. Not too computer saavy so it might take some time to get set up here, glad to be here and hope gain some insight that leads to more fish closer to home. One question I have is, how do you all do in the rain?
