Any Civil engineers here?

Hey guy's,
I'm looking for a local or close to Mansfield licensed civil engineer,I need to have my property surveyed.I hope to build a garage some time soon but I need to know how close I am to my neighbors property and want to know what my limitations are,I cant start anything till I know where my boundaries are.

Look in your closing documents for survey date used for your property transaction. If it was recent, there may still be pins or stakes in place. Locate your plotplan as well. Then check with building commisioners office to see if there are any in the file from previous permits.

And if you are on speaking terms with your neighbor, ask if he has a recent survey of his property, and also walk the property "lines" with him. If there are any differences of opinion, you might as well get them out on the table now.

The on day we closed on our house we were given is a "generic" out line of our property line on an arial photograph.It shows us one thing but it there are no stakes push pins or concrete markers.

There has been no permits pulled on our local,as for asking my neighbor's...I asked them five years ago and got the run-a- round....I'd like to keep it "civil"

Town of Mansfield should have a plot map to copy...

that's what they're for....

not that you'd want this... but a dirt floor isn't taxed
only cement floors are taxed (assessed)

there's chemicals now on the market that make
dirt as hard as cement....

but inquire... about pole buildings & non foundations
just to see how much you'd save... just for shts and giglles

sounds like the neighbors been hiding your property line
and usin some of yours... just a hunch tho

When you submit your plans your town's building inspector is going to ask for a current plot plan.
I've used there guys a few times and know lots in the area who work with them.

I'll check my survey sat. bob, hit me up then if you still need to know, the original and when we put the fence up was an instrument survey.

Also call the building inspector in town, Nick Riccio, he knows a bunch of them

Today Wife and I were just discussing about getting our yard surveyed as well just so we know EXACTLY where our property lines are should thee ever be a dispute with nieghbors
We bought the house almost 3 yrs ago and have no idea as to how our land runs other than we have 2.75 acres. Had all the plans etc from town when we bought, but too vague.
How much does it typically cost to have it surveyed and just pins hammered in, no need for concrete markers?

We did get the site survey 10 years ago. Douche behind me kept pulling the stakes had the surveyor and the cops there when they put up the fence

I set #5 rebars at all angle points, they are easy to set and will last our lifetime. I have cement markers but usually only set them as required for the town, takes alot of time to set them which in turn doubles the cost of the survey. I buy the bars in ten foot lengths and cut them according to the soil. The sandier the soil the longer the bar.
