I've been hooked on Maine Beer Co. They make small batches that you can find on draft if you are in the Portland area or Eastern Standard in Boston or the 16ish oz. bottles. Mean Old Tom is a nice Oatmeal Stout with some vanillia used, but by no means overpowering. A nice drinkable stout that won't overwhelm with alcohol % like some of the imperials that are out there. They make a few others Zoe, Peeper, and Lunch that are all excellent. If you ever see the Lunch IPA I would grab as much as you can. Its developing a cultish following and doesnt last long. Its one of the best IPA's I've ever had and thats my favorite style.

I think it will be mostly wine on Christmas. We have Rib Roast so red goes good. Maybe some Ruby Porter too.

mmmmm, I love the Stone IPA's. They have the Ruination on tap at Sunset Bar & Grill. That can get me in trouble. That place in general gets me in trouble. The 60 is great too, Had the 90 recently and I thought it was going to strip the enamel off my teeth. I can't imagine what that 120 is like.

Are you mixing up the Stone with Dogfish? Or are you just having a few too many ? The Dogfish 120 is potent stuff. I had 3 in one sitting and lost a couple of hours of memory .

Haha, no, I was just rambling about a few of my favorite IPA's. My uncle brought a 6 pack of the Rogue Santa's private reserve. It was pretty good. I thinks its a bit of a rip off though. Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend.

i figured the ruination was a bit pricey at $20 for 6 to bring to a party. Went with regular stone IPA and victory hop wallop. got some southern tier for tonight.

The best is when someone goes to the cooler looking for light domestic, end up pissed because its gone, and then says "oh well. I'll drink this". They take it, drink it, and then complain to you that you're crazy for drinking "heavy and dark" beers. You literally need to hide the good stuff! Forunately my family is pretty educated in beer. Cousin put me tight to my first Dogfish.

Ghandi Bot! Also have Oatmeal Milk stout from Riverhorse. When the wife is thirsty, a current favorite is a good reposada tequila w/ ginger beer or a st germaine gin and soda.

No, no, no. we’re 30… 30, three zero.

Egg Nog

Old family recipe that I have been tweaking a bit year to year since it got "dumbed down" a bit due to health concerns. Almost back to where it needs to be (one qt heavy cream and one qt light cream and about 20 proof), but will probably give it one more adjustment next year (back to 2 qts heavy cream).

That and some quads and an imperial or two if I get some left coast brands I prefer.
