Hi Nightprowler.

I see that you used cork-tape, I 'm building a similar rod. How long did you make the rear grip? How long is the front grip? Are you planning on sealing the cork? Just curious.

the rod is only 7ft; the reel seat is 14 inches, and the fore grip is about 7 in long. What do you mean by sealing the cork? If you mean epoxying over the top of it, then no. The bottom where the butt is i wrapped masking tape and then epoxied the end cap on. The top end near the reel seat, i wrapped and epoxied that, as well as both ends of the fore grip.

Hi Nightprowler,
Ok, just curious how long the grips were. I made my rear grip 14" long also. Seems right. Thanks.
