Can anybody guess when this song was originally written?

And who covered it? Interesting song. It always is a fan favorite at shows.

Howlin Wolf... late 50's?..maybe early 60's?? guessing.. of course Jimi Hendrix covered it... and I think Cream did too??.. Led Zep called it the Lemon Song, and if I remember right they got sued over it, and had to credit Howlin Wolf....

Nice Karl! It would be easy to look it up on Wiki and then answer but i can tell that you didn't. It was written in 1964 by Howlin Wolf and Hendrix and Zeppelin covered it. It was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame as well. The guys really like playing it.

guess i didn't fry all my brain cells than when i was younger... so.. did Cream cover it too, or was that just a bong hit that resurfaced on me?

from what I've looked around on the net.. there was no Cream cover....
brain cells failed me. ..

all in all, I think Jimi owned it, even if Howlin wrote it.
