BFT on spinning

With all this wind I'm finding time to gear up for a possible trip end of month if the stars line up..

Any suggestions on some entry level gear...

Dug through attic today and found outrigger poles from early 70's ....

I'd look into a gossa 20k on a jigging world ghost hunter 200 popping rod. Stuff adds up super quick.

Ive been using a VM275 reel loaded with jerry brown 80lb braid on a heavy terez. Works great with 60" class fish.
Reel is like 499 and tackle direct has a buy 2 get one free deal if you know some people that want one. Last week we fought a big, big fish for 3 hours on a stella 20000 and a black hole cape cod special rod. Had fish to boat and the rod shattered.....good luck, like angler229 said, stuff adds up quick!

Fish Rule!

Best thing for leaders is to have a loop spliced into your hollow core then buy wind on leaders 80-130 fluro and attach them with a loop to loop connection. To attach your plug/jig put a heavy duty swivel to a HD split ring and change the lures on the split ring instead of retying.

I have the Gosa 20K on a VS. Great combo, easily landed 60" BFT and brought a 8' porbeagle boatside for release. Put Hollow core and splice a loop. Get a Daho reverse latch needle and look at youtube. will take you 10 minutes to learn to splice the loop. I use Basil wind-ons.

This combo can handle bigger fish, in combination with good boat skills and team work.
