L.E.D. lights

SO like everyone I fell on the CFL bandwagon . Save a ton of electricity , reduce mercury emissions from power stations , blah , blah ......

If you really look into they are not something you really want in your house . How many times have you had one break on the floor? I have had more then a few . Read this -

Compact Fluorescent Lamp Study Report, Bureau of Remediation and Waste Management, Maine Department of Environmental Protection

and this

New CFL Breakage Clean-Up Guidance - Mercury Policy Project - Promoting policies to eliminate mercury use and reduce mercury exposure.

How many of you are planning on having kids or already have young ones? I have one on the way ! Sheet freaks me out !

So after reading this and all the info , I have wanted to switch . Check out Lowes , they have a nice sice L.E.D. light section . Sure some are really expensive , but some are decent . I've snagged some of the 7.5 w , brighter then a 22w cfl! The brand is utilitech pro . They are $15 a pop , but last 25, 000 hours. Shop Utilitech 40-Watt Equivalent Indoor Warm White LED Light Bulb at Lowes.com

Meanwhile the government recommends using cfl's until a safer alternative becomes available , and they ban incandescent bulbs.....
