Work

So after working at the same place for 11 years and no pay raise for anyone in the last 5 years I was let go by my former employer just before the holidays.
The old company was sold to a national company

I would love to drop there name here and tell everyone not use them BUT I'm taking the high road on this one and won't go there.

Thanks boss man,

I'm in a union now and getting paid twice my old rate

I'll say this much...don't fall into the trap that the "union will take care of you".They won't.

That sucks about your old employer Frank, and just before the holidays !
I'm pretty sure I know the name of the old company!
Hope things are better with the union!

Also, I'll be dock mates with you this year at Capt Cove!

I worked for an Auto Dealership group based in Worcester and begins with an "H" for 24 years. I earned and was promised a manager's position at the store in Marlboro. The position , and my job with it were eliminated. I was transfered to Worc., as a tech in a union shop. They had useing the contract against the help down to an art form. Am I bitter? Hell yes.

Very few peole or employers are loyal these days. When your lucky to find one, let him [ or her] know you appeciate him [once again-or her].

It all depends on what union you belong to. I have been in the same union since 1968. I have NO PROBLEM with the union I belong to. In fact,I make more money retired than I was making while working!!
I am a RETIRED TEAMSTER!!! Great Union!!
