I will see what I can dig up. I have a few. Lost some of my pics a while ago, but I have some time this week and will try to snap a few.

Fun plug to build, I've made a bunch myself.

The basic swimmers came in 8" 6" and 4". The 6 and 8" plugs were the same diameter about 1 1/2" I think and the 4" swimmer was about an inch with a smaller lip.

Thanks, in addition to the dimensions, I need to see where the lip and wire hole are located and a good pic would be great. Any idea about the total weight? If you you don't know, no worries, the pic is a big help alone.

The big daddy is 8" and 1.25 in diameter. Weight is approx 3 oz. The husky dude 6" is the same diam and 2 1/4 oz. The mini is 1" and about 1 oz. The pic below of the lip is of a 8" big daddy. The 2 small swimmers are another swimming style of some real old ones I thought I would throw in. The other pic is some husky dudes.

I think they were all made out of pine. Originals all had screw eyes.

Please post some pics of what you come up with.

Come to plugfest and you can check some of these out. I plan on bringing 50 to 100 of them with me.

One more...

Here is one more pic of the big daddys.

Somewhere I may have posted a pic of them all in my display case.
If you try the search you will find some pics of mine and a whole bunch of others. Some of the guys on here have made some beautiful reproductions.

Good luck.

Thanks for the great info. Looks like the wire hole is just about center or maybe just a tad lower. I am thinking of building a prototype which is 9" long, 1-1/2" dia. and 3-1/2 oz. I am not the fastest builder but I will post a pic as soon as its done.

Thanks Again!

P.S. Yes I should be at the Plug-fest if all goes well.

help

I've build a few.....heres a couple things that might help ya.....I center drill mine.....mark the hook and eye placement on the wood blank.....when I (first)did them I fought to line the lip to the hookholes and eyesyou got to line it up and put the screws in was a pain..........now I mark everything and cut the square ends off then I put the lip on. then put the body in a v-block and use a hole starter and mark the hookholes and eyes then I drill them....I find it alot easyer to line everything to the lip then to line up the lip to everything...I didn't use any weight(lead)good luck ed

its no ones fault

Erics display is a must see.... especialy if you are a fan of the plug like I am..

I build lots of them, they are my primary trolling plug in the spring..

the originals were pine, screw eye hardware and poorly sealed.. water logging and hook pull out were problems, most of the savy ( before I got involved with them) guy's reworked the rigging, I Knoew Sabatowski through wired his...

I make mine 8" long and 1.35" in diameter... lip is installed dead center, I use WRC and no lead.. 4/0 hook in front, 3/0 middle and singel 6/0 siwash on rear...
