Yep she's for fluking! Afterhours you would ask, only because I forget what blank it is I can tell you it is graphite and 7' long Next I may build a heavy rod for shark, tuna, etc and drop a big Penn International on there

not bad for your first time.Only had to show him a few times and he went from there.
The blank is an American M701 , 7' 1 pc ,rated 1-3 oz.
from start to finish including his first Diamond wrap was aprox 3 hours 45 Min.
Hope you land a large

Nice Job.

Thats what I look to be landing, now all I gotta do is get Mikes Dad on the boat with me Thanks for all the compliments it was something I have been wanting to try for sometime, now I need to make my own setup for future builds, would make great gifts for people who fish and something to do in the winter. I had alot of help with the diamond part something I will practice.

Good choice on the 701............I've wrapped a few and worked those rods hard (15 lb. Bluefish in a ripping tide) and never seen them break out in a sweat

Nice VF

That rod became a quick favorite, don't leave the dock with out it. Easly covers all my inshore bottem fishin needs and their not pricey. In the process of wrappin a 601H my sons first rod.

I use the abu 6500 w/#30 PP, have Mike getcha a power handle for it. the set-up is lite & sensitive. If you want to make it a bass/blue type set up then you could go with penn international, better drag and line cap.

Yep , ABU 6500 reel. The cranberry Striper reel comes with a power handle. Mike T has them. Best id the BG6500CL but hard to find now and more money. Anyway , 6500 ABU is perfect with some braid. For a boat fluke rod , I'd use 35 LB spectron on 6that reel.
