The "Kissing Sailor" passes

Probably not many are old enough to remember this but something very ironic just happened. Many of you probably heard about the recent passing of the "Kissing sailor" George Mendonsa, of Middletown RI.

George was very much involved during the Striper Wars of the 1980s.

Mendonsa was the Newport fish trap company (Tallman and Mack) owner and very opposed to the more conservative striped bass regulations that were eventually enacted at the time. So much so that #^&#^&#^&#^& Russell wrote the entire chapter 4 (A Man Named Mendonsa) of his book Striper Wars, about him.
