Levon Helm played Newport this summer at the Folk Festival - yeah, I know, I already posted this...
I had to work - but just so happens that work is about 1/4 of a mile from the stage and on a strong SW wind it was like being in the press box - he was awesome, and the back-up band was tight

Levon's new album Electric Dirt is terrific with a lot of his funky drumming. There is a great version of the Dead's Tennessee Jed. Stands up with any Early Band record.
