Biden/Warren in 2016?

Joe Biden has been meeting with Senator Warren. I think he's going to run, and I think he wants Apache Chief to be his running mate. And I can't think of anything that would help the GOP more.

If he was electable the DNC would have trotted him out before now.

This is a Hail Mary now that Clinton is looking a bit unsavory and Sanders is not a party guy.

The power-brokers within the Democratic party may be wondering if he is more electable than Hilary is.

When Trump drops out, some more attention will be paid to her endless list of scandals. Resilient as she is, her number will drop more. According to the latest Quinnipiac University poll, she trailed Walker, Rubio, and Bush in 3 swing states. I don't see how that gets better for her in the next couple of months.

Which of course it is. Otherwise, she's a pathological liar.

I don't know that it's working out well for too many people, but I guess I don't know anyone who thought they "couldn't" win.

As a Republican, I would be deliriously happy at the thought of going up against Biden and Warren. The only better scenario would be Sanders, but he has zero chance.

I just can't imagine anyone voting for Princess Spreading Bull, outside of Massachusetts. She's a horrible, dishonest, totalitarian, shrew. It's OK for her to be rich, but all other rich people, I suppose, are evil.

If he did the DNC would never trot out Biden. Remember the election is not by the people but Electors. How are electors selected? By nomination via state conventions. Soo in that reality if sanders does not get his parties nomination. He can not win the Election

I believe he has zero chance of getting the nomination (she is clobbering him everywhere but New Hampshire), and less than zero chance in a general election. He's an admitted socialist, which is extreme in this country. Most people find that thought repugnant.

I don't think the DNC is worried that Hilary can't win the Democratic nomination (every poll has her way ahead of Berine, except in a few states).

I think their fear is that she won't do well in the general. Latest polls had her trailing 3 GOP candidates in 3 swing states (Iowa, Colorado, can't remember the third). As the email scandal progresses, I don't see that helping. Lousy timing for her.

True.

Combine that with the unbelievable bias in the media towards the Democrat, and anything can happen.

But as a conservative, I'd feel better about my chances if it was Biden, as opposed to Hilary. Not sure which one would be the lesser of two evils if elected.

The issue is it really has little to do with the American people. Just the way it is.

Under our current system the Electors choose the U.S. President. 537 delegates from across the U.S. Choose the POTUS. These delegates are nominated at state conventions for their respective parties. Generally chosen because of contribution to that party(in this day and age I am more than certain that contribution comes monetarily) judging by the one name I know from the list of MA delegates from 2012. These individuals do not fall in line with the populace rather the pols and the interests supporting them.

Hence the money game. What happens is these individuals that will be nominated are the individuals most easily bought by the super pacs and those heavily connected within party lines. That is why I have been saying while sanders may have noble intentions, while Trump may want who make America Great Again. Their message may be heard by the people but at the end of the day the interests that control the USA will not have a person elected that will not fall in line with what they want. So yes Obama won the popular vote in 2012 and 2008 the people were idiots and dazzled by Oprah and Hope and Change etc. at the end of the day Obama won because he said yes more often than anyone else when the super pacs came knocking with money in hand. Our vote for the POTUS means nothing. As evidenced in 2000 when GW won but lost the popular vote. Our votes on the local and national level count more to hope and change than any single vote for POTUS we could ever cast.

The best thing we could do as a people is vote in a pile of trumps and Sanders into the house and the Senate.

For example this individual elected Obama in 2012 he was an elector in the State of MA to say he has a checkered past is an understatement.

But how often do the electors not cast their vote for whomever won that state (as decided by the people)?

The point is moot if we can't even get the best candidate nominated.

But the nominee isn't selected without regard to the people. There is a primary in each state, and at the convention, the state delegates go through the formality of giving their vote to a candidate. But doesn't the delegate always cast his vote for whoever won the primary in that state?

Fascism

An authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.
Synonyms- authoritarianism, totalitarianism, dictatorship, despotism, autocracy.

Not sure how that relates to anything Trump is putting out there.

I have heard he is a misogynist, some have called him racist, some call him materialistic, some say he is vulgar. But Fascist?? Comparable to Afolph Hitler? Sorry not buying that.

Who votes in Primaries? Not the Un enrolled. I have to register with a party to vote in a primary. Sorry but I choose to vote based on the candidate. Unfortunately that leaves me out in the cold on primary day.

"Only voters affiliated with a particular party may vote in its primary. State law provides for closed primaries, but both parties allow unaffiliated voters to choose their ballot on election day."
