Marine Fisheries Management - Science and Decisions

Paul Caruso, Senior Marine Fisheries Biologist will be speaking to the group regarding the marine fisheries management process (particular emphasis on the Recreational Fisheries), the underlying data programs (especially the MRFSS - Marine Recreational Fisheries Statistical Survey), and the MA DMF components of that survey. Paul has worked for the DMF for over 19 years. He holds a BS in Biology and Earth Sciences and a MS in Fisheries Science. His duties include lead biologist for Bluefish, fluke, scup, tautog, black sea bass.

He is a striped bass tagging and biological sampling coordinator. He is a former commercial fisherman, life long angler, and a licensed charter captain.

We at the B.B.A.C are lucky to have Paul coming to speak with us and I know he will be happy to answer any questions you may have. I look forward to seeing you all there and please spread the word to anyone that may feel is interested.

Wow... this looks pretty interesting. I would love to hear how they count all the fish caugh by rec anglers. I have never understood that.
Is this open to the general public and non members of the BBAC?

May take a day and do the boat show grab a bite and swing by.

Thanks for posting this.
