New Vacation Hot spot

I happen to be in some not so nice parts of the world lately and it was kinda tough to get some shots since picture taking is illegal and we are under escort at all times, but here are a couple... This happens to be a nicer area of town.

Here is the Nigerian drive up for fast food restaurant .

Nigerian Gas Stations

Watch out ExxonMobil

Here they come.... and they are everywhere.

This gas is stolen and sold on the streets daily. Very corrupt even all the factions of government.

If you look closely you can sorta tell that the pollution in the air is literally choking to breathe. During the day the pollution sits a couple hundred feet above the ground and at night it all settles and reduces visibility to less that a 1/2 mile. It burns your eyes and throat almost instantly.

Larry,

They burn everything,,,, tons of plastic,,, there is no such thing as protecting the environment... Our bus rides through Kaduna and Kano at night to get to and from the airport drives our security company nuts,,, We stay at a 24 hour security hotel I guess it is normally used for diplomats,,,...

It is a dump but behind the barb wire and tall walls there is armed NPF and then our 24/7 security. But the people approach the bus at night and try to get in or on it. We always see fighting and often hear gunshots in the local area,,, We are told those are the NPF keeping order... At night all the little gas stations make these oil burning lamps to let you know they are open,,,, It does not look like our company wants us to stay in Nigeria anymore,,,

They cook some little round things,,, look like little onions... We were not allowed to stop... and we sure as hell won't try one,,,

This pic is in the center of town,,, Everyday people bring trash and others pic through it, eat stuff from it, feed goats there (look close) and then Burn it. The smell is unbearable compared to the smog.

When the aircraft is cleaned the cleaners take all the leftover food... They are searched when they get on and off,,,,

The photo from the hotel clearly shows there are Two Social Classes.
