making progress

I finally seem to be making some progress and wrapped up the spooks and needles I've been tinkering with. Maybe its a good thing I didn't get these done for plugfest.

The spooks are 3 oz, I did one up dark to try at night. The needles on the left are floaters made of pine and the ones on the right are maple. I kind of supersized them from the originals which are on the top of each row. They are all right about 2 -2 1/8.

Now I just have a small batch of misc odds and ends that I'm tired of kicking around that I want to get painted and then I can move on to something new. Seems like every year I lose about 1 of everything and somehow they turn up months later and I never get back to them. Here's a darter I finally painted thats been gathering dust on the worktable atleast 2 years.

Yeah when it's time to fish those needles you'll know where to find me.

Hope the spooks aren't too heavy, those are a plug I haven't fished very much but I did make these ones a little heavy on purpose to try at slack in the canal. Can't wait to give them a try, May just can't get here soon enough.

Looks good Dave... nice clean work as always.....seems everyone got a jumps start from plugfest ( or maybe it has finaly stopped snowing every other day) I finaly drilled some small Gibbs style pencils i turned in NOVEMBER.. and got them in the sealer.... as well as dahters and sand eels plugs....

A good run is better than a bad stand!

Too heavy? No, just perfect for casting to BFT!

I'm just getting around to priming some plugs I have had sealed since last summer. Plugfest always seems to kick my rear in gear.

60 % of the time, it works every time.

Nicely done Dave. Plugs look great. You must go through some serious lead ! I don't think you've ever made a plug under 2 oz!

This made me laugh. I was going to go down and take a picture of my lead pile, but most of that gets used for jig heads...
