Talking The Bite is getting better!!!

Hello all,

Well we have hit the water pretty hard the past week with mixed results but it is starting to turn the corner.

We have been getting Mackerel to live line for bass for well over a week now with very few bass to show for the effort until the past 2 days.

Every day we had been getting decent numbers of mackerel and only a bass here and a bass there and all around 26" to 32", but they are some nice solid Striped Bass. Every day we have been getting better numbers of Bass and today was a pretty good day.

We had plenty of macks to get started early this morning. What a beautiful day it was. We started fishing about a half hour later and were hooked up in about 15 min, 1st fish was 32 inches and beefy. about 15 min later we took another bass but it was under keeper size so we kept working the area as we were at least having some good activity and the baits were pretty nervous. We had a few more runs, lost a few fish and had a few mackerel come back with crushed heads!!!

Then I got a nice hit and run, set up on the fish and she definately had some meat to her. Got her to the boat, she was a solid 42 inches and scaled 29 lbs. Finally some of the bigger bass we have been waiting for. This bass was also covered with sea lice.

About 45 min later, BAM another decent fish on the line. Pam set the hook, brought the fish to the boat, it was like the other fishes twin. A wee bit shorter but had a little better girth to this fish. The fish was 40 inches and scaled 28 lbs.

After that all went quite for a while and we called it a day. I will try and post the pictures in the photo section as I have been having a problem uploading photos so check them out if you like.

Right now there is a tremendous amount of bait around, inside and outside the harbor and things are on the edge of Bustin wide open, with all the warm weather forcast for the rest of the week, get ready cause its about to hit the fan.

If you want to get out and do some live lining mackerel, for big Boston Harbor Striped Bass, give us a call as we have some open dates coming up in the next few week. Things are shaping up so far to look like we may have an awesome season!!!

I will also be posting some shared trip dates in the next post, if you are interested give us a call and we will get you scheduled so you can get into this live mackerel mania as well.

Tight lines and get out there!!!!!
