mold and bleach

i've heard so much online and with friends. probably 50/50 down the line.

so does bleach kill mold? i have a small portion of my attic that is closed off from the rest of it. it's inproperly ventilated and i'm getting some black marks on the roof. need a dry day to put a roof vent up there.

right now i've got a dehumidifier running. any advice to get me through the winter. has anyone tried fogging an attic with moldzyme or similiar products?

Bleach as a 3-5% mix with water sprayed on the moldy areas should do the trick.

You'll need some type of ventilation while bleaching!

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

I found a good product for black mark, mold and lichen on exterior roofs called "Roof be Clean", stain away.
You need to spray it on every 30 days till it's gone and then every 12-18 months for prevention.
Does a pretty quick job on the green mold and lichen but takes some time on the black marks.

Bleach, straight from the bottle will kill any and every mold. I had a similar problem and I solved it by getting a Heavy Duty bug sprayer (holds a gallon) and filled it with bleach. Then I went up into the attic and sprayed the sheet out of it. Made sure every piece of wood was wet with bleach. I had to wear respirator because of the fumes, but it did the trick, Not a hint of mold left then we put in the ridge vent.

Bleach does the job on mold, I use it when needed. Just let it dry by itself and it won't stain. sraight from the bottle.

Do not ever, ever mix bleach and ammonia together.

The mix is deadly.
