perfection wire guides...

does braid wear a groove in these...I have four rods, all on honey lami's and I want to know if I should use braid...

depending on the braidand type of guide, you could wear off chrome plating and/or finish over time. ss guides are not the best for braid as they dont choke the line that great due to typically being large in size for the rod/reel and lead to "wind knots". stick with mono on that outfit or get a new one w/ ceramic guides for the braid.

Wire guides--whether they're Perfection or Mildrum--will eventually groove, even if you stick to mono. Especially the tip and the two guides nearest the tip. The big 75 mm gathering guide usually won't groove unless you've caught a ton of fish--and even then the ring to frame welds will give way first

thanks for the replies... guess I will have to try re-wrapping with some other type guides...
I want the lightest possible but resilient...
