Who is into video games here?

I have never really played them until recently when we got our daughter a game console, I find myself now not being able to put the control down and competing with her for use of it, have to get another one! I almost feel guilty at my age for playing them but, man, they really are a blast! Some of the games are very intense and very realistic. Think I will buy Cabelas hunting one next!

Games so far that I like are "Gun"

Socom "Combined assalt"

And madden 2007...This stuff is fun and a great way to get thru the winter..

WARNING: Vids are addicting at any age. I have been fighting the additciton since the Atari 2600 first appears. However, I don't think I will be shooting anyone for the new PS3.

My earlier reference

PlayStation 3 shopper shot outside Wal-Mart

PUTNAM, Connecticut (AP) -- Two armed thugs tried to rob a line of people waiting to buy the new PlayStation 3 gaming console early Friday and shot one who refused to give up the money, authorities said.

The two confronted 15 to 20 people who were in line outside a Wal-Mart store shortly after 3 a.m. and demanded money, said Lt. J. Paul Vance, a spokesman for the state police. The new Sony consoles are selling for $500 to $600.

"One of the patrons resisted. That patron was shot," Vance said.

He said the two gunmen fled and the victim was taken to University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. There was no immediate word on the victim's condition.

Vance said police were searching for the suspects, both believed to be in their teens. He said one was wearing a ski mask and brandishing a handgun, and the other had what appeared to be a shotgun.

Short supplies of the PS3 and strong demand led to lines of buyers, some waiting for days, outside stores across the country.

In Palmdale, California, authorities shut down a Super Wal-Mart after some shoppers got rowdy late Wednesday. In West Bend, Wisconsin, a 19-year-old man was injured when he ran into a pole racing with 50 others for one of 10 spots outside a Wal-Mart.

In Lexington, Kentucky, police were investigating a drive-by shooting that hit four people with BB pellets outside a Best Buy store, causing minor injuries, according to television station WKYT, whose own reporter was hit as she interviewed buyers in line

Do any of you listen to O&A?

They want to get one and take it to the front of the line. let all the gammers admire it and then hit it with a sledge hammer.

I though it was hysterical... maybe thats because i just can't get into the video game thing...

Give the EA Nascar games a shot. Even if you don't like Nascar they're great.

Run away while you still can - it is very addicting. If you come over tomorrow I'll show you my setup for flight games - Even Liam likes to fly the planes

Some games are extremely addicting, especially when you play against real people on a network or over the Internet...

Dude if you like GUN you will absouletly love Red Dead Revolver. MUCH better game in my opinion. Yeah video games are pretty redic as far as addiction goes. A new game I'm really into is Marvel Hero Alliance which features almost every marvel super hero. You can have 4 heros in the game at hte time and u can swap them in and out. Also, when your daughter isn't around you might want to try some Grand Theft Auto, The Godfather or Scarface God why am I at work and not playing my PS2 with a New Castle

oh my god that game is the best! My roomates in college would almost come to blows over the heated matches they would have in the game. One time I came home from class and the closet door was ripped right off the hinges, apparently my roomate got so pissed, he had to take out his anger! LOL

any cool fishing games that you guys have played?
I have "pro bass fishing challenge" for Xbox, and it's fun for like 10 minutes, then gets boring really quick. Imagine a surfcasting game?

The sound of muffled cursing echos through the house and the unmistable clunk of the X box controler being thrown at the floor. My brother and I turn to one another, "Dad's playing Splinter Cell again"

I don't play video games for the majority of the year but I due manage to play just about all winter. My brother just recently got gears of war for the 360... awesome just awesome, rattles the house with the surround sound. Bill if you're looking for a Cabela's hunting game try to see if you can find the original dangerous hunts game they put out. There's been one or two sequals but nothing compared to the original. Other good ones (in my oppinnion) are any Star Wars title, the Splinter Cell series, except Double Agent, Halo, GTA, and many more...

My roomates and I would pick two teams each, one AFC one NFC and play a whole season thru in a night surviving on coffee and White Castles and leaving for work in the morning... I usually had Houston and SF.

Bad news - my F-15 departed controlled flight, Good News - I recovered before crashing, Bad News I was going slow at about 200MPH and at less than a thousand feet when unbeknownst to me the SU-30 flipped over me, got in behind, and hammered me with guns. I ejected:
