Mint Crack 300

Bought this from piemma in Feb 2007.

Almost new, Crack 300. Still has seal on side of spool. Has been converted to no bail.

Paul bought it in 94, and used it once. I never put it on a rod, as I was boat fishing most of the year. This is the reel that the original VS300 was based upon. I know Steve McKenna uses one when prowling Cuttyhunk...

Just looking for what I paid: $175.00 including shipping.

Just to verify. This reel is mint. There is a fiber seal that goes around the spool. I have never seen a Crack 300 with the seal still intact except for this one. I only took it out once as my wife and kids gave it to me in 94 as a Christmas present. I only sold it because of leaving the surf scene for the boat. Super deal for this quality of a reel that's at least 35 years old.

No boat, back in the suds.

I'll get a picture up today. It is exactly as Described and received from piemma. And I am one of many here who will tell you Paul takes care of his gear and does not exagerate about equipment or its condition.

Ross is right. My wife and kids bought this reel for me for Christmas in 1994. I put it in a triple plastic bag and sealed it with duct tape. This was back when the sharpies on the Cape fished Crack 300s and there were no VS reels. Anyway, this reel came our once in OCT 1999 to fish a bunker run at the mouth of Narrow River. I washed it and sealed it back up and it never saw daylight till I sold it to Ross last year or maybe 2 years ago.

The reel is in such pristine condition that there is a a fiber gasket around the spool. You will never find this gasket intact on a Crack because they wear out very quickly. Yep, this reel has the gasket intact. I sold Ross the reel because I was diagnosed with cancer and gave up surf fishing. It is, what i would consider to be a 9.5 out of 10 for condition.

If you look on eBay there are junk 300s going for $150 everyday.

No boat, back in the suds.

I only mentioned the $150 price in reference to the "junk" for sale on eBay. This reel is mint and worth way more than $150. It's collectable for God sake.
