Coyote at new house

Hi guys and gals its been a long year. Lots of good and not so good in mine and Jane's life this year but all is good now. We bought 22 acres of land to build our new home in the woods GREAT got started on house Aug. 20 and Jane was found to be VERY ill as we started to frame the house. Lots of visits to Mass. Gen. moved her into the new home Nov. 9th and major surg. Nov. 16 . Then back to the new home to recover and the holidays. She is doing great now and the long term out look is very good. I did not get the PLAIN JANE in the water once this year with the clearing of the land and then the building and then caring for Jane. I also did not get to hunt but once or twice in Mass. with the bow and not at all with the gun till the week before Xmass with black powder. I did get a small buck just out side my front door that day so there is meat in the freezer. Now its time to thin out the coyote in the back yard. Got two last week and one yesterday morning. One from the front porch and two from the back deck. God I love this new place. And yes I am legal as we are 640' from the nearest house and we own 3/4 of a mile back into the woods from the house. Hope 2010 turns out to be a good year for all here at S.B. God bless.

Hi Greg, sorry to hear about the troubles Jane has had, I wish her well and a quick full recovery. I hope you have more time next season to get out to fish more. Enjoy your new home.

Hit em and hard!!
Coyotes are one of the hardest to hunt, your are not afraid of people "Not good" . They can reproduce at a alarming rate, up to 16 a litter. And when they found grabage they will always be back to chk it. Good luck on the house and hope bride is up to par

thanks guys

Bill look who else lives in the back yard! Also have pictures of 8 point, 6 point, two dif. 4 points and lots of does. Next season I hope to have a fun time in the (back yard). I have the camera set up on a trail 50 yards from my back deck. After I clean out all the coyote I bet it gets even better. I have cleared a 70'x150' small plot and will plant some alfalfa there this spring. Jane has set the rules and I can not shoot deer closer than 100 yards to the house as she likes to watch (her) pet deer in the yard. Thats only good till there is no meat in the freezer than it's ok .

Very cool shot. Any info on the camera you're using?

Coyotes creep me out. Individually, who cares, but in a pack....

Nice buck there Greg, it's awesome being able to walk out of your back door and hunt. We have been hunting behind another friends house, he borders a WMA. We have been doing well, but there are still alot of other guys in there with us, and you know how that can go. We had the does patterned pretty well, and saw alot of bucks this year, someone we know missed a couple but in the words of SGT. SHultz, "I know nothing, I hear nothing, and I see nothing."

Thanks for the well wishes guys. The camera is a moultrie #620 I think. And yes we built the house in 10 weeks had it done in 8 weeks but my plumber could not get done in time. Here are a few pictures of the house if you look close at the one of the back you may see something hanging from the deck to the right of the holly tree. Buy the way there was a wash tub size scrape under that holly Tony we have not made plans for the first trip yet but you are on the list for sure.

P S you should see the size of the new man cave 1442 sq ft I got the hole walk out basement.

Hi Mike things got a little CRAZY in Dec. and I just lost all track of time. The ice is still there as of this afternoon but I think it will be gone with the next tide I will let you know. I heard from Bob he wanted to know about the ice to. As soon as its clear I am going to give it a try from shore as I have not caught my first striper of the year yet.
