The Best And Perhaps Only Reason To Vote For Donald Trump
By: streiff (Diary) | December 17th, 2015 at 10:00 AM | 30

Other than an excuse to crack a good bottle of bourbon and watch the panic, I mean.

In the 1960s, a German communist named Rudi Dutschke reformulated one of the concepts of Italian communist Antonio Gramsci, that of “cultural hegemony”, into the memorable phrase “a long march through the institutions.” By this he meant that the way for communism to succeed in the West wasn’t necessarily by violent overthrow of governments. Rather it was by saturating the universities, government bureaucracies, the world of arts and letters, entertainment, etc. with communists and thereby, over time, change the culture and governance of Western nations. (Uli, Franz, and Dieter did not approve.)

We are already at that point with those institutions I listed above. All the conservative professors at Ivy League universities could sleep in my guest bedroom — at the same time — without fear of overcrowding. The US civil service is little more than a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrat party and thus well on the way to being communist. The legal profession? Gone.

In all of that there is one outlier. The officer corps of the Armed Forces. Historically, the officer corps has been culturally and fiscally conservative. It might have some authoritarian and paternalistic impulses but, by and large, it was a reliable bulwark against the cultural rot that has flourished in society. That started to change in the early 90s. Not because of Bill Clinton but at about the same time. The 1992 election was the first I can recall hearing senior officers openly discuss voting for a Democrat, and an egregious draft dodger, for president.

Under Obama, the “long march” became a sprint. Senior officers who were outspoken Christians were forced into retirement. Into senior leadership slots were inserted yes-men of the worst sort. The suck-up-kick-down types who do whatever the boss tells them to do and ruthlessly punish subordinates for not falling in line. Under the current Secretary of Defense, Ashton Carter, the collapse of a warrior culture has been complete. Homosexuals were allowed to serve openly with a concomitant increase of sexual assaults on male soldiers. Women were placed aboard submarines with a predictable impact on both morale and discipline. Three women were shepherded through Ranger School for no greater reason than to debase the performance standard there in the name of equality. When the US Marine Corps did an empirical analysis of the performance of all-male versus co-ed infantry units they found the co-ed units performed at about 60% of the standard set by the all-male unit. Ashton Carter’s Pentagon pronounced it biased and disregarded it. Transgendered military persons are not given the psychological discharges they so richly merit but are allowed to serve in whatever fictitious form the wish.

The services are rife with intellectually bankrupt types at all levels who are willing to say or do whatever it takes to get their heads patted by the command structure. In short, under Obama the US military has been transformed from one that demonstrated it could do anything anywhere to a cultural cesspool where megalomaniacs and sexual deviants rule the roost surrounded by battalions of sychophants panting to carry out their orders.

If there is a glimmer of hope, it may be in electing Donald Trump. Via The Daily Beast Pentagon Officers: We Quit if Trump Wins.

In the halls of the Pentagon, there is a different plan afoot for the Trump presidency. Here, officers are privately contemplating what they would do should Trump become their commander-in-chief. And more often than not, they proclaim they will leave.

“By 2016 I will have my 20 years in and can get out of here,” one military official said, referring to the amount of time a service member needs to collect retirement pay.

Spend enough time with a service member, and the topic of Trump comes up, always unsolicited. It is far less political than it sounds. Trump’s attack plans for the so-called Islamic State widely known as ISIS—his call to ban Muslims from the United States, his suggestions that cutting off the flow of information through the Internet can protect the homeland—many said, are an affront to the values they vowed to die to defend.

Each one of them took an oath to defend the Constitution, which protects the freedom of speech and gives Congress, not just one person, the power send the nation to war. They also swear to “obey the orders of the president of the United States.”

This Daily Beast correspondent has heard such sentiments from at least a dozen commanders in the past few months. Such conversations can also be heard at common areas—in cafeteria lines and around lunch tables.

And so in the course of conversation, plots of a different kind emerge—contingencies in case Trump really is elected to the White House.

“By 2016 I will have my 20 years in and can get out of here,” one military official said, referring to the amount of time a service member needs to collect retirement pay.
“This is not the country I joined to defend.”

“I am turning in my papers.”

“I’m moving to a farm.”

Just to be clear, these are the same people who went along with abandoning what was accomplished in Iraq. These are the same people who went along with abandoning Afghanistan. These are the same people who cooked the books on the rise of ISIS because it ran counter to Obama’s wants. These are the same people who have punished military chaplains for actually preaching the Gospel. These are the same people who stood idly by while professing Christians were forced from the service. These are the people who discharged men who objected to child rape. These are people who willingly served Barack Obama. None of that offended them. But they are so offended by the thought of Donald Trump in the White House that they would resign.

Good riddance.

If I thought for a nanosecond that they had the integrity to actually resign if Trump is elected I would be spending every waking hour campaigning for The Donald. But they won’t. They are time servers who couldn’t pick a real soldier out of a two-man lineup. They have borrowed into and thoroughly corrupted a great institution and there is no way they are going to resign and abandon their life’s work.

I have faith in the lower ranks of the Officer Corps. The Cadets I meet and speak with fully believe in the Constitution and truly feel that their first responsibility is to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic and bear true allegiance to the same".

Many of them will hold true to their conviction and will lead this country to greatness again, the commissioning programs are about making leaders first, war fighters second so don't think I am implying violent revolution. It has taken more than 50 years to completely fill the primary through post secondary education system, the entire government and legal professions with socialist lemmings, we need strong leaders to bring us back from the brink but it won't happen overnight.
