St Croix Avid Surf ASRS80M 8' Spinning Rod

Rod is in very nice shape. Guides all good, no nicks or damage to the blank. Minor stress marks in the epoxy on some of the wraps. Rated 1/2-2oz. One piece. $130 picked up in SoCo. I'll ship it but you pay for actual shipping plus cost of the pvc tube if I have to buy one at Home Depot.

It is a fairly stiff rod and I think it is under rated. However, I have never used it for that weight and I do think that regularly trying to throw 3 might be a stretch. If you were in SoCo, I'd let you give it a try. Perhaps put a post in the main forum here / on a surfcasting site and see what others think. Thanks.

no way that handles 3oz. I have the 9' triumph rated 1/2 - 2 1/2.
Actual range on 9' is 1-2 oz.

I would have to agree that 3 is too much. I used it with 2 and it was not a problem.... gonna move it elsewhere... NLA here.
