Here's a question for the wingers....

How can you AS A FISHERMAN support someone who is against controlling the dumping of waste from a mine into rivers and streams that could effectively destroy an entire fish habitat and destroy the entire fishery?

How would you feel if the EPA pulled all the restrictions on the power plants and businesses along Narr. Bay, along the Cape and islands, in Boston Harbor, up any river along the coast?

I haven't fished much (not even once) this year but do a plan on doing some hunting this year. If the messiash is elected hunting will change. He is the most anti firearm candidate to run for office in approx the last 100 years.

His philisophy on the 2nd ammendmant is down right scarey. Disarming the public is one of the first steps in Socialism. This is America and Socialism has no place in a democracy...........

I'd be willing to bet there's a reason why the stance has been taken. Not saying it's right though.

You talking about that big dam project where they want to hold the contaminated tailings forever?

If you watch Icetruckers they have to truck everything of the sites including grey water and "dirty" snow. You should see what the Russians do when they drill. I don't think she is for polluting the rivers. I also think most of that is controlled by the EPA or some Fed. group.

Palin opposed the bill forcing the mining companies to contain and take their wastes elsewhere. Opposing it meant they can just dump the waste water from the drilling into the rivers.

"What people are doing is fighting as Alaskans hardly have before. While experts say the mine could yield more than $300 billion in metals and hundreds of jobs for struggling rural Alaska, unearthing the metals could mean releasing chemicals that are toxic to the salmon that are central to a fishing industry worth at least $300 million each year. And while the metals are a finite discovery, the fish have replenished themselves for millenniums."

5500 jobs at the pebble mine vs over 12,000 fishing.
$300 billion TOTAL from the mine vs $300 million a YEAR from fishing

Whats more secure and worth it?

Buckman, iceroad truckers happens in Canada, they actually do a very good job of protecting the environment from the rigs.

The reality is even though she voted No on 4, as soon as it gets to court and the EPA shows up they'll come down on the bill like the fist of an angry god, but you still can't help thinking if she's related to comm fishermen, what the hell is she doing? Pandering to the haves while screwing the fishermen? That wouldn't be much of a surprise. Glad we have Kennedy and Frank here in MA.

This is amusing

Palin Opposed to Farm Fishing “Or Anything That Could Contaminate The Fisheries” Sarah Palin
stated she was opposed to farm fishing and would rely on scientific fact for decisions on hatchery
management. [AP, 3/17/06]

Yet she votes no on 4?

I wonder how much she got for her no vote from Northern Dynasty.
