I've discussed this a few times and don't bother any more. I know that my own personal donations consist of about 30-40% going to my church. We have a gorious hall and are building a gym.

My 16th great grandfather founded southold NY with 12 others back in 1640 something. It was the first English speaking town in New York.
He was a baker and possibly a brewer.
