August 2009

For me, August is going to be very very busy. On August 12th, I leave for Hawaii with my mother, her boyfriend, and my brother. We are in Kawai, Hawaii for 8 days, 7 nights, we'll get back home on the 20th. On the 21st, my brother and I leave for CapeCod with my dad and stepmom(Angie<3). This will be, by far, the best month of my Summer!

Take care,
Nathan

Keep in mind that there are just as many dangers (if not more) in their waters than in ours. I didn't have to learn the hard way because I was prepared. For example, if you are an avid scuba diver/snorkeler you need to know what types of creatures you will encounter. I had been to Kawai back in '92 and did some snorkeling in a "tidal pool" next to our condo. It had some moray eels and a juvenile scorpion fish. The eels can bite, but were very passive while the fish is a poisonous species that can possibly kill. Needless to say if I wasn't wearing neoprene gloves (webbed surfers gloves makes swimming a lot faster) I wouldn't have gone near these fishes.
If you have the chance, and are interested in diving/snorkeling, there is a nice cove/lagoon in Poipu (poe-e-pu).
Have a blast, but be safe!
