G&L guitars

Just curious if anyone owns or plays a tribute? Strat style by Leo. I just bought a U.S. Version at a pawn shop. The guitar is beat "maple body and neck rosewood finger board. "

I have stripped the guitar down and am doing a complete overhaul. New pickups bridge locking tuners etc. just trying to decide how wild I should go with the rebuild?

I chose to do a copper inkwash base with pearl blue to transparent purple sunburst. May black out the sides or darken the purple a bit.
It's getting wired with split coil mini 59ers from Duncan and and a Jeff beck bridge pickup.

I ordered a new tremolo and neck plate from G and L and am going to attempt to make a pick guard out of Alder or something to that affect and continue the sun burst theme onto the pick guard. Treating it as its own sunburst.

All the cavitys will be shielded with copper and bonded to system ground. I am going to buy a fender spring connector so I can add tremolo springs. This is built with only two. I really want the set up low and pickups high to start. Haven't decided on the neck hardware. May install a rolling nut. Definitely locking tuning machines

Neat job.

Here are my mine. Sad thing is this is the first time they have been out of cases in a decade or more. Maybe this will motivate me to go buy some new strings

There's a little coin there. Nice selection. I am just really getting going again myself. I tend to jump headfirst into things
