Fishers island

Was wondering if any of you folks have paddled to fishers before? It looks like the watch hill area to fishers island wouldn't be too bad of a paddle in calm seas ofcourse. Any thoughts?

I know people that have done it but the reefs between Watch Hill and Fishers Island can get pretty nasty. Even picking your days you run the risk of the wind kicking up while you are out there and if you end up with the wind against the tide it’s going to make for a real dangerous paddle back.

Thanks for chiming in guys. Guess I'll scrap that idea, thought the kayak would make for easier surf fishing access there.

The kayak fishing is great out there, not an easy place to get to. There is ferry service from New London or Groton. I have taken a kayak over on the ferry and plopped it.
