Onset Outing

Saturday wind NNE 5 knots, we ( was with my son Matt ) launched Shell Point, paddled a few seconds got into a school of smaller fish lot's of action top water and some rubber Shad action , hit back side of Wickets some top water action there also . then ventured out the the Onset Rip , Matt hooked into a nice fish but got towed out towards the canal and lost fish on the rocks , to much big boat traffic in and out of the channel I might add these boats are at WOT on the safe side we headed back inshore to the boulder fields I hooked up with 3 ,30" fish all fish C&R this outing
Sunday same launch site wind SSW & knots and gusty later on in day
covered the whole area SKUNKED , Matt had a couple hook ups but nothing landed
Great weekend !!!!

We get to Onset once a year in July, mostly hot then. There is a nice boulder field water out near the main channel that looks really good. Only problem is that it is dangerous when the current is ripping. Looks hard enough for the boats that try to fish that spot.oh well, I will stick to my usual safer spots that have rocks anywhere along our shores. Nice report.
