I love my trailer hitch

There is nothing better then a big truck and with a 2" reciever in bad weather. This thing has saved my vehicle from damage several times now. One time I had the hitch on and a guy hit me in the rear while the car was parked and his front end was messed up and the vehicle never even touched my car, the hitch kept him at bay.

This morning while stopped trying to make a left hand turn I see a mini van in my rear view mirror approaching and skidding on the ice. He is not stopping and is going to hit me. So I floor it and keep the vehicle straight but he caught up and hit me in the rear and I hear a large thud!...but my vehicle was moving foreward at the time of impact. Anyway I get out and NO DAMAGE AT ALL TO MY TRUCK. I look at his and the front plastic airdam is shattered. He went under my rear bumber and hit the reciever which is very solid. It is not ever scratched. He asks if I am ok and is my my vehicle damaged, I say I am fine, the vehicle is fine, he says he is fine. I say have a nice day and we both drive away. I should have grabbed my neck and tried to sqeeze him for a new boat but I am not that kind of guy.

Nothing like an SUV with a hitch.

I have one in the front too

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!

It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

One morning I was driving to work on rt 24 doing about 70,I feel a thump in the back.
A nurse just got of duty from doing a double shift fell asleep at the wheel, and slamed into the back of my GMC with a pintle hook.
Her little Nissan got totaled, but I know it saved her life.

me too! Lots of people ask me why I have that. It is very handy for moving boats around the yard, holds my cooler rack and keeps fools off my front bumper.

JR is right about the shin though...damn that hurts at night when you can't see it.

for some reason allmost like clock work someone rear ends my truck , the hitch has saved me many bumper changes , one time the car that hit me was stuck on the hitch , i pulled the pin , pulled the truck up , went back gave the hitch a twist out it came , put it back on left the guy sitting there leaking antifreeze waiting for a towtruck next time hopfully he will pay more attention to driving

Yup quite a few years back now but I had vehicle issues and had to drive my hubbies 78 bronco for a while. When he got it he said " I should put a big heavy duty bar up underneath it to protech the gas tank in case someone every rear ends me" so he did. Well wouldnt you know that senario came true while I was driving it. girl that hit me stuffed her car so far under the rear end it completely totally the car.She was cranking!!! If that bar had not been and (and stopped her from going further) there she probably wouldn't be alive...........

Simplify.......

I got the trailer hitch option on my FJ even though I don't plan on towing anything just to protect my rearend from city parkers bouncing off my bumpers. So far it has been good.

Cool i got tired of being rear ended

(My neck vertabrae aint so peachy anymore.)

so, i took the rear bumper off my truck
and bolted on an old pressure treated 8 x 10 beam
that used to be underwater.
and used it as a battering ram on many occasions
