Work Top Rust?
Just curious what some of you guys use to treat/clean the surface of your tables on your tools such as your band saws, drum sanders and drill presses to keep them from beginning to rust? Thanks for any help.  |

Larry, when I am shutting down, or putting away tools like the table saw, lathe, etc for a while, I clean them, then apply a coat of Butchers wax, then just lightly buff... when ready to use again, clean rag, and finish buff off the wax... no rust, and nice and clean.

second the butcher's...and works great on rods and reels, handsaws..block plane's, the list is endless.always keep a can at the shop..trailer and the job site.

I use silicone spray on my work surfaces if I am activly working the cave. When shutting down for a longer period, I use butchers also. The bowling alley stuff. Works great on fishin stuff as CS stated.  |

geez i don't do nothing ? rust ? I'll have to go check ,, maybe cause i got forced hot air its dryer ..

Either one, both are same formula, bowling alley is clear, boston polish is amber, that's the only difference. Boston polish on fine furniture =  |

i've got a can of the boston polish, use it on my wooden toolbox and some stuff around the house too......works great on wood and metal too

wax , but if i'm not planning on using something for awhile , i will throw a packing blanket over it . helps keep the moisture in the air from contacting the metal .
