Big fish, little boat
My son Leo and his Ma Maritime buddies been putting fish in the truck fishing in 22’ - 26’ center consoles.
Quite a few 100 - 105 inch fish.
Biggest one so far, just a bit short of a grander.
112”
973# whole fish
780 dressed

Ah, to be young again! Nice Leo! Quite a feat to land multiple bigguns on those smaller CCs.

They snuck another 100” one in before the Quota closure for September.
They got a few weeks off till October quota opens it back up
October, November & December catching giant tuna in a 22-25’ center console.
Not sure if it’s nice to be young or they are nuts
He also just landed a permanent gig as 2nd engineer on a 900’ tanker that runs the NW, Alask-California
Pretty sizable bump in pay on top of his 6 figure salary from 3rd engineer.

So you are saying he can afford to charter your boat for those three months, or put in the downstroke for his own offshore rig....

He’s got a 22’ Shamrock straight inboard center console now.
Most of his Ma Maritime buddies have 20something foot Contenders-23’ Potter Sea-Crafts, 27’ Conch…… boats.
He’s looking to upgrade from the Shamrock.
I told him to find a 26’ Cape Codder with a straight inboard diesel.
He can afford whatever he wants.

Pretty good fall for him & his MM buddies putting fish in the truck.
October quota over.
He left yesterday for a little vacation with his girlfriend in Hawaii
Next week he’s off to the next chapter as 2nd engineer on a super tanker for 75 days +- that runs west coast, California-Alaska.
Pretty good life for a kid 24 years old.
