IM SICK OF CATFISH. I WANT THE STRIPER!

I have been fishing on the Potomac river ( DC/Va) for stripers (small wooden boat). I am always disapointed when i catch a catfish instead of a Striper. I am using fresh cut herring(getting hard to catch) and i am getting upset when a dumb catfish takes my precious bait! The spot i fish at is pretty calm, and looks kinda swampy, but i catch alot of Stripers there. The problem is that i also catch alot of Catfish too. Should I find another spot further up stream with more current? Do Stripers prefer to stay in places with higher currents?

Sabiki - head to more salty water. Lots of cats down there (remember bailing them as teens at the Power Plant outlows) in tose brackish waters. Move to more salty and current/moving waters.

OR be happy that when you are not catching bass you have the cats.

Did a number on Catfish some years back in the Coosa River in AL. It was good fun. The big ones seem to hole up just off the dam tailwaters.
