Happens every Memorial Day. It's like the college kids on Storrow Drive. You have to wait till the light turns green then you go!!
I heard ez-pass is now taken on the tunnel. Is that true?

Yes! Just got my pass in the mail...about time too!!

The person from the State said I was lucky that I ordered when I did because the wait is almost 3 months now.

I'm pleased to announce that one of the duties of my new position is acting as an agent for people who want to obtain a tunnel permit by mail. You can send me a certified check or money order for the fee, which is $125 for a non-resident seasonal permit. PM me for my address. I'll throw in a deed for the Bourne Bridge at no extra charge.

I once helped a kid get unstuck from the sand at Smith Point on Nantucket. He was in his father's brand new (stickers still on the window) 4WD explorer. He had driven on the beach , no permit , not aired down and he was stuck where he'd be totally flooded when the tide came in.

I made him do all the actual digging and got some boards under there (from our vehicle) , I aired down his tires , then we helped push and finally he got out. The damned kid never even stopped when he broke free. he just drove off the beach and away. Not even a bye or a thankyou.

Anyway , he was lucky that night cause there was just me and my friend out there that night. without us , he'd have lost the vehicle.

Can I exchange my old Mt Hope Bridge tokens for credit towards a tunnel pass?

Tunnel Fun

I wonder if the Cape Cod Tunnel will replicate the tidal flow like the big dig does? Imagine being able to stop half way through, get out, pic nic, and dig a few clams, and then press on to P-Town. Just think one or both sides could be glass, so the sojourners could watch the fish being caught. And well maybe the top could be glass also, so you could watch the ships pass by while looking up. Imagine the moon shots travelers would receive from the canal rats.

Slinging eels was never this much fun before!

You're my kind of guy, Paul.

Tens or twenties are preferred. The, uh, clerk at the tunnel office doesn't like big bills

I can also get you a great deal on a ten-trip discount book for the bridge tolls, if the tunnel pass is too rich for your blood

Every time I see a car with a flat tire the tunnel maintenance crew always help the person change the tire as fast as a NASCAR pit crew....great service by them. I only wish they would be sent to 128 during rush hour.

i have only been using the tunnel for a few years now has anyone seen a leak?
