"The Old Man and the Sea", Spencer Tracy. He was great in "Captains Couragous", too.

Perfect Storm was the first on my mind since I watch it pretty much every time it's on - I can do the dialogue in perfect synch now

Captains Courageous with Spencer Tracy is a great one I haven't seen in years - keep hoping to catch it on TCM - the only movie I can think of with a Portuguese leading man...I don't know if anyone has ever made a film about Prince Henry the Navigator or not

That might be a good project to develop

"Hey, bahhhddy, where the hella you goin' - you lost, godthamma, we got troublesh ovah heah..."

.........

Geez, might not qualify as a fishing movie - I don't know if Price Henry fished or not...

Nah, must have - he was a Portugaluppa for chrissakes...

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

Man's favorite sport. Great old funny movie. Rock Hudson. about a man who wrote a fishing book but never fished before.
