winch pull

put an electric winch on my trailer but the angle of the pull caused the cable to rub see pic .. I raised the winch same issue just not for as long as before .. I cant move the winch forward .. any ideas

Maybe mount a roller where it’s chaffing ?

Does the strap come from the top of the spindle or the bottom? If it’s on the bottom...

You could drill two holes in the uprights and put a bolt thru with a brass pipe sleeve to act as a roller

Add a snatch block & doing so double up your cable pull.
Depending where you place the 1st hook back at the winch stand that will change your cables angle.

Could you use an angle grinder and remove part of the bracket where the cable is chafing?

thanks for all the suggestions going to try the snatch block until then i have gone low tech a piece of garden hose helps
